Concerts fill stadia while football fans are allowed only 25% – Alhaji Grusah descends on NSA
Renowned football administrator and bankroller of Kumasi King Faisal Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah has condemned the act of the National Sports Authority to leave the Accra Sports Stadium for musicians to host their shows whiles clubs are not allowed to play there since it was closed for renovations.
Before the closure of the stadium, the NSA informed the clubs who play their home games at the stadium to allocate for the stadium to be revamped.
On December 17, 2021, the stadium was opened for GT Bank to host a concert named ‘GT CONCERT’ that contained Nigeria’s top musician Davido and Ghanaian artists including Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinata, Adina, and others.
A week later, the doors were opened for Shatta Wale and AMG Medikal to host their Freedom Concert that welcomed over thousands of spectators whiles it is prohibited for clubs to use more than 25 percent of supporters to obtain the COVID-19 protocols.
In an interview with Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe, the owner of the GPL giants King Faisal stated. “We were told they will not use the pitch but outside. We should talk for ourselves and we will meet for that and talk to them and see the way forward.
“The NSA is wrong though they informed us before what they are doing is incorrect.”
“If it is true then what they are doing is not correct.” He said.
