Mason Jailed 18 Years For Defiling 3-Year-Old Girl
The Circuit Court, Nsuta in the Ashanti Region presided over by Her Ladyship Winnie Owusu-Boatey, has sentenced an Ejura-based mason named Isaac Bimpong Junior, 18 years for defiling a three-year-old girl.
The accused had earlier pleaded Guilty Simplicita and was convicted on his own plea and sentenced.
He’s begun his sentence at the Central Prison Kumasi.
The Prosecutor in the case ASP. Emmanuel Kyei Sarpong giving the facts of the case said the victim(name withheld) attends the accused’s father’s school.
He narrated that the victim’s mother Ndabe Belinda, who is a seamstress went to work with the victim on that fateful day (5th November 2021). Later on same day, the accused saw the victim playing around her mother’s workplace, and bought her waakye with egg, and lured her to a dilapidated public toilet at Community Centre, Ejura.
The accused then undressed the victim, put her on the floor of the corridor, licked her vagina and forcibly had sex with her. ASP Emmanuel Kyei Sarpong continued that whilst in the act, a witness in the case who also went there to attend nature’s call saw and rescued the victim.
The witness is said to have raised alarm and the accused was arrested. The accused was handed over to Police for investigation whilst the complainant was issued with Police medical report form, to take the victim to the hospital for treatment and endorsement.
The complainant returned the medical report form duly endorsed by Dr. Emmanuel A. Aboagyc, Medical Officer of Ejura Government hospital which states as follows: 1. Hymen broken, 2, Vulva walls erythematous, and 3. Vaginal bruises.
An investigation caution statement was obtained from the accused and thereafter was charged with the offence of Defilement of a child under 16 years contrary to Section (101)(1) Act 2960.
