It’s not by force to play at Baba Yara if lower ties can’t pay GHC 5K user fee – Prof Twumasi

When asked about the plight of the Division one clubs not being able to pay the user fee of GHC 5,000 for using Government stadia, the boss of the National Sports Authority retorted it is not by force to use their facility if these clubs cant pay the approved fees.

Prof. Peter Twumasi, speaking in a telephone interview with Joe Laka on Kessben TV, explained that the cost of maintaining the stadia is very high.

He noted that every month, the National Sports Authority has a financial responsibility of paying experts for the maintenance of the pitch, paying for water and light bills, and other financial responsibilities.

According to him, the lower divisions clubs in Ghana especially the division one clubs sell more players than the premier clubs hence advising them to manage their finances well if they sell.

He however suggested that the lower ties clubs who cannot pay for the user fee of GHC 5,000 can seek sponsorship through the NSA as agents where fees will be absorbed.
