Gender Ministry will not tolerate beggars on the streets – Cecilia Dapaah
Acting Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Cecilia Abena Dapaah has reiterated the ministry will not sit aloof for beggers to invade our streets.
Speaking on Maakye on Kessben TV with Akuoko Kwarteng, the minister stated they are not going to drag the beggers away from the streets will but will find a better way of getting them off the streets through education.
According to her, there are some people who are behind the children we see on the streets begging.
She noted most of the people behind these activities are their mothers who send them on the street to beg.
On Wednesday, the ministry began a campaign to get the beggars off the streets.
Madam Cecilia Dapaah with her team visited a number of streets in Accra where most of these beggars are stationed.
