Kumasi coffin makers hit the street as KMA direct them to vacate for land to be used to build stores (VIDEO)


The coffin makers on Tuesday hit the streets to demonstrate against the directive by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.


An ultimatum has been given to the Coffin makers around Fante New Town, Asem, and Labour to vacate before 18th December 2021. The coffin makers insist they are not ready to vacate the place they have been over decades only to vacate them and be used to build stores.


A leading member of the coffin makers association speaking on Kessben TV underscored that the decision to vacate will increase the unemployment rate in the country. In a letter sighted, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly stressed that the land which the coffin makers currently occupy is going to be developed therefore they must vacate by 18th December 2021.
