Former Second Lady Hajia Ramatu Mahama returns from medical trip to UK
Former Second Lady of Ghana, Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama has returned to Ghana on Tuesday, November, 2021 after a long medical trip to the United Kingdom.
She arrived to a resounding welcome by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumi and the Aliu Mahama family led by Member of Parliament for Yendi, Farouk Aliu Mahama at the Kotoka International Airport.
The wife of late former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama was flown out of the country for treatment after she took ill in September 2021.
A couple of news websites at the time reported the demise of the retired educationist which the family refuted.
Alhaji Farouk Mahama in a Facebook post thanked President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia for their care and support to the Hajia Ramatu and the family.
He wrote, “The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, joined the Aliu Mahama family yesternight to receive the former Second Lady, Hajia Ramatu Mahama at the Airport after her medical trip to the United Kingdom.
“The family is profoundly grateful to President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the Vice President and the government for the show of demonstrable magnanimity in giving the Former Second Lady a deserving treatment.”
