Covid-19: First case of Omicron was detected on a Nigerian – Agyemang Manu
The launch that was held today at Alisa Hotel was to encourage and make sure that all citizens in the country are vaccinated.
Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu during the ceremony encouraged and urged all Ghanaians to part-take in the exercise.
He explained that the new variant (omicron) was detected at the KIA, and the carrier is a Nigerian. He indicated as a country to curb the spread of the virus, we need to adhere to all the preventive measures.
He also stated that this mass exercise will be done at both private and government institutions, homes, schools etc.
According to him, it is a must for all Ghanaians to be vaccinated since individuals will be asked to show their vaccination cards before accessing entertainment venues this Christmas.
Celestine Donkor, an Ambassador to Covid-19, also urged all Ghanaians to use this opportunity to be vaccinated.
She stated that covid-19 is real hence Ghanaians should treat it with all seriousness and be vaccinated. she also said that ”we should put all spirituality aside and get vaccinated”.
