Fuel Prive Hike: GPRTU, other transport operators to embark on strike
Public Relation Officer for Ghana Private Road Transport Union Abass Ibrahim Moro says all members of the GPRTU other transport operators on Monday 29th November 2021, will embark on a strike following the hike in fuel prices in recent times.
According to him, government authorities have ignored their plea for quite too long.
He stated that to create an awareness of the strike on Monday, they have commanded all drivers to wear red armbands as a protest signal to alert the government of its intended strike.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, November 2021, the coalition of private transport operators declared a strike for drivers but authorities interceded which led to the cancellation of the strike.
Abbas Ibrahim Moro stressed that under no circumstance will they cancel the strike if authorities give them no positive feedback by the close of the week.
