2021 BECE: High teenage pregnancy rate affect turnout in Amansie South District

The 2021 Basic Education Certificate Exams have come to end after students sat for the ICT paper on Friday.

Turnout for candidates in the Ashanti region was hugely affected due to some reasons with pregnancy amongst most candidates being a major reason why they could not sit for the papers.

Kessben TV reporters visited many centres in the Ashanti region where students took the exams.

Out of the many centres visited a major reason for many absentee students had been the fact that they were pregnant.

In the Amansie South district, 1672 students registered for the exams but 52 of the candidates could not sit for the papers with pregnancy being a major reason for not showing up.
