National Road Safety goes digital in fighting road accident
Ahead of Christmas festivities, the National road safety has given out a shortcode to Ghanaians to report on any negligence driving and bad conduct by drivers.
Director for planning and programme for road safety, David Osafo Adonteng says to curb road accidents and promote road safety, they have created awareness and brought up laws that will govern drivers, pedestrians, tri-cycle, motorists, etc.
He further explained that in order for Ghanaians to become road advocates and promote road safety — hence came up with the (194 code) to enable individuals to call the national road safety to report reckless driving which could cause road accidents.
He noted that together with the telcos, and the national communication, the shortcode was developed to curb road accidents.
According to him, they just started with the process and he believes in the month of December everything will fall in place and the code will be active.
