NDC started 97 E-Blocks, not 124 – Ministry’s PRO clarifies

Deputy PRO of the Ministry of Education, Honorable Yaw Opoku has said that 95% of the Aflao E-block project is completed.

He emphasized that the E-block has been completed but left with some basic attachments like painting, clearing of sites, etc

According to him, the basic attachments will not take more months to be completed indicating he’s optimistic by February 2022, the E-block will be handed over for classes to begin.

He noted that there is a conflict between consultant and contractor in regards to the certificate that was issued by the contractor which will be resolved soon.

Mr. Yaw Opoku speaking with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on Maakye explained the main challenge around the total completion of the E-Block project has been financing.

Out of the 97 day Schools under the Mahama government, the NDC government completed 29-day schools and the NPP government has completed 31-day schools with three (3) boarding houses.

He added that some of the building infrastructures are 60%,80%, 95% completed with 27 contracts terminated. The total number of the project is 97 with 60% completed.
