2021 BECE: 50% of absentee students are pregnant in Bodwesango

The 2021 Basic Education Certificate Exams have commenced with more students not able to sit for the exams due to one or two reasons.

According to a report by Kessben FM’s reporter in Bodwensango, 6 students out of the 302 students who registered for the 2021 BECE exams could not sit for the opening paper on Monday.

Amongst the six students who could not sit for the social studies paper, 3 of them are pregnant, a reason why they could not show up at the examination centre.

One of the six is reported to have freshly given birth and the other two students are male students whose reason for not showing up remains unknown.

According to GES, a total expected number of 571, 894 candidates will be sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) from today, Monday, November 15, 2021, to Friday, November 19,
