Medikal remanded into prison custody for five days

Rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong (Medikal) has been remanded into prison custody for five days after pleading not guilty to the charge of displaying arms and ammunition.

He was picked up by personnel from the Accra Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly brandishing a gun on social media.

He was subsequently denied bail as prosecutors piece the evidence together to charge him for unlawful possession of a firearm.

This comes barely 24 hours after an Accra Circuit Court remanded Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale in police custody for one week.

Shatta Wale is facing charges of publication of false news after feigning a gun attack on Monday, October 18.

Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, the popular musician has been charged together with three others including his aide Nana Dope.
