Wontumi has lost popularity in Ashanti region, we can’t break the 8 with him – Opooman

Member of the New Patriotic Party and former Assemblymen of Nhyiayeso, Abraham Boadi, better known as Opooman has stressed that the current Ashanti regional NPP chairman, Wontumi has lost touch with the people and party faithfuls. Opooman insists Wontumi is not cut out to lead the party with their break the 8 agenda.

Speaking with Ali Baba Dankambari on Kessben FM/TV, Opooman said that the party currently does not need someone like Wontumi as a frontier in the Ashanti region but a character who is very flexible with the modern art of political diplomacy.

“He’s lost popularity in the region. He’s not part of the Heavyweights now. If you have followed the trend very well, you will notice it.

Most of the kingmakers in the party who do not talk much but have influence are not for him again. The Youth wings are not for him again. The market women are not for him again.

Just compare him to Aduomi and Odeneho, Chairman Wontumi’s popularity is now very low. Go to the local executives, the very people at the grassroots are all not for him anymore. Even the press, check it quite well, he’s just lost it” He said.

Opooman who supported Wontumi back then conceded the fact that at the time Wontumi was elected to lead the Party in Ashanti region, the Party needed someone like him but stressed that the party does not currently need a figure like him.
