The Greater Accra police command on Tuesday morning picked up Pastor Stephen Akwasi Appiah popularly known as Jesus Ahoufe following the alleged gunshot of Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale.
The man of God was arrested at the premises of Accra FM whiles he was about to go on-air at the radio station.
Producer of the Accra FM morning show, Richard Appiah Sarpong speaking with Yaw Boamah on Kessben FM/TV Breaking News said the Police had a heated exchange with the management of the station before they arrested the pastor who was scheduled to go on air.
According to the producer, the police came with a white pickup vehicle and were not in police uniform.
They demanded to take away the pastor without giving any identification which brought some chaos until one of them later introduced himself as police with an ID.
“One of the police called the pastor and pretended to be Medikal, the musician. He told the pastor that he’s Medikal, and that he wants to meet him so he should get down, he’s sitting in a white pickup car” The producer said.
The wife of Jesus Ahoufe however confessed that her husband had apparently arranged with the police to meet the police after 12 pm when he finishes the radio program so was very much surprised to see the police storm the station to arrest her husband. She described the move by the police as unprofessional.
According to the wife of Jesus Ahoufe, they have received a number of calls from fans of Shata Wale across Ghana since the rumours emerged about gunning Shata Wale.
Jesus Ahoufe last month prophesied that a Ghanaian musician who bears the name Charles will be attacked on 18th October 2021 on the midmorning program of Accra FM.
