Don’t go and defend, open up & play for qualification – Sam Johnson to Hearts
Former Black Stars defender, Sam Johnson has urged Accra Hearts of Oak to open up play in their 2nd leg game with WAC of Morocco in the CAF champions league.
Many football pundits and soccer fans have asserted that the Phobians should go in the second leg with a defensive approach to the game.
The former footballer believes opening up play against WAC in the second leg of the game is the best possible way to grind a result that will secure qualification for Hearts of Oak.
Sam Johnson speaking on Extra Time advised Accra Hearts of Oak to continue with their high pressing game by opening up play in the second leg.
“They should not go there to defend. You cannot defend for 90 minutes. They should go and open up and play. Let’s not forget Hearts of Oak won double last season, that alone can scare and bring panic to WAC.
They should go out there and continue with their pressure football. I believe very much that, with that approach, they can qualify” He said.
Hearts of Oak beat WAC of Morocco by a goal to nill at the Accra sports stadium last Sunday. The Moroccans host the Ghanaians next weekend in the 2nd leg.
