Cameroon friendly cancelled due to excessive travel and security demands

Cancellation of Egypt’s friendly against Cameroon leaves players and coaching staff frustrated
Egypt’s friendly with Cameroon has been cancelled due to the African team’s excessive security and travel demands.
“Cameroon officials asked for a private plane to travel to Cairo and we couldn’t meet their demands,” assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed told Ahram Online. “They also asked us to provide two bodyguards for each of their foreign-based players.
“The camp has been cancelled and the players have gone home,” he added.
Egypt was scheduled to play friendlies against Benin and Cameroon on 7 and 11 September, but both have now been cancelled.
The seven-time African champions were knocked out of the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifying tournament in the first round after a 4-3 loss on aggregate to the Central African Republic. They play Zimbabwe in March in a World Cup 2014 qualifier.
