Ganiyu has done enough to merit the Kotoko captainship, Good decision by management – Frank Nero
Senior sports pundit on Kessben FM/TV, Frank Owusu Ansah has commended the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to have appointed Abdul Ganiyu as the new captain of the club.
Frank Nero reckons the defender has done enough to merit the Asante Kotoko captaincy by showing great leadership traits since joining the Kumasi-based football club.
According to the sports pundit, it is preferably good to have a central defender as captain on a football pitch. “Having a central defender as a captain on the pitch is preferable to me than anyone.” He said.
“Apart from the goalkeeper who sees the full pitch quite well during play, central defenders by their position also get a good view of the pitch while playing.
Goalkeepers can’t move around the pitch and instruct during play but for a central defender, he can move around and command.
Appointing Ganiyu is a good decision, he has done enough to merit the Asante Kotoko captainship” he added.
