A/R: Kids who cross river to school abandoned school for over one month due to collapsed bridge(Video)

Residents of Bankroso in the Ejisu Juaben Municipality are calling on the government to come to their aid following the collapse of the only bridge that connects the community to other towns.

School-going children in the community have had to stop schooling due to the current state of the bridge the students had been using to cross the Bankraso river.

Economic activities by the women in the community have also slacked because they cant cross to the other communities.

Asumadu Darkwah reporting for Kessben FM/TV told Ali Baba Dankambari on Breaking News that the state of the bridge got more deplorable after the recent heavy rains.

According to the residents in the community, a man who was crossing the bridge recently fell from the bridge and got drowned in the river.

“There’s no school in Bankraso. Children had to cross the river to school. The school is at Boaman, a nearby community. Recently a man died after falling from the bridge and we won’t let our kids cross that bridge to school. It’s been a month and they are at home” A resident of Bankraso said.

The people are pleading with the government to come to their aid as they are also Ghanaians. A resident of the area stressed that national development is not only limited to urban areas, therefore, the government as matter of urgency should also respond to their needs.
