Bekwai: Mother pours hot “Katekonto” soup on her stubborn child

A woman identified as Akua Afriyie, has been arrested by the Bekwai Police after she poured a hot groundnut soup on her child.

Isaac Antwi reporting on the incident told Ali Baba Dankambari on Breaking News that, the woman claimed her child is very stubborn.

According to the woman, the child does not attend to any errands or do any house chores in the house but always

the first to eat when food is ready.

Prior to pouring the hot soup on the child, the woman asked the child to go and buy tomatoes to be used to prepare soup.

The child refused to attend to the errand by her mother. Moments after the soup was ready, ironically the child came to her mother’s kitchen with a kenkey and took some of the soup.

The mother could not control her anger when she saw the child taking some of the soup. She hysterically poured the whole soup on the child.

The victim was sent to the Bekwai Government hospital, but due to the deep burns, an arrangement was quickly made for the child to be transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
