Some want me to fail but I’m determined to succeed at KMA- Sam Pyne

The new mayor for Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Samuel Pyne has expressed gratitude to all and sundry after he was confirmed by the assembly members.

The former Kumasi abattoir chairman, speaking on Kessben FM/TV noted that he’s aware of the fact that it is not everyone who wants him to succeed as Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly but he’s fully determined to leave a legacy behind.

“Let me first thank the Almighty God. There were thousands of people out there but I was chosen and I have been confirmed. In fact, I thank everyone, I know it’s a very difficult job but with God and your support, we’re going to succeed” He said.

Reacting to the issue of the Ghc 50 million long-standing debt of the assembly which generated threats about his confirmation, Hon Samuel Pyne noted even before his confirmation he had initiated a process to ensure the monies are paid for the assembly.

“One of my priorities is to get the debt cleared. I have started the process to ensure that the money will be paid for the assembly. I have contacted the necessary offices to initiate the process. 95% of the assembly members voted YES, this should tell you that they wanted and believed in me.”

”I am going to work with all the stakeholders involved to see the success of the assembly. I know not all are going to like you, some will want me to fail but I’m more determined to succeed. We’re going to find the real challenges facing the assembly and we will tackle them” He concluded.

The new mayor underscored that after serving the Kumasi metropolitan assembly, in the future, he would want history to judge him as a mayor who came and collaborated with all stakeholders to bring massive successful story of KMA.
