Increase Road toll for better roads – Inusah Fuseini to Government

The former Minister for Roads and Highways, Inusah Fuseini says Ghanaians should pay more in road tolls to aid in the provision of better road infrastructure in the country.

Commenting on Kessben FM/TV’s Breaking News Programme hosted by Ali Baba Dankambary, he charged the New Patriotic Party to begin to explore other means of raising funds to finance the country’s road deficit.

The former Minister argued that it has become necessary as the Road Fund continues to grow lean against the huge need for road infrastructure.

Government has in the past, shelved attempts to increase road tolls for this purpose over public outcry but the former minister for raods and highways under the National Democratic Congress regime says Ghanaians must pay more if they want better roads.

He is therefore calling on the government to increase the road toll from Ghc 1.00 to help the government to get enough funds for road construction.
