MESTI Pledges Support Towards Establishment Of Vaccine Institute
MESTI Minister Dr. Kwaku Afriyie(MP), has reiterated his ministry’s preparedness in terms of financial and human resource support towards the establishment of the Vaccine Institute proposed by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
He was addressing a team from the Presidential Vaccine Committee which called on him in Accra earlier today, Friday, 17th September, 2021.
Dr. Afriyie stated that Ghana hosts various vaccine preventable disease programmes as part of its public health activities in the country and that the institute, when established should be the Centre for the supply of vaccines to the rest of the world.
He added that the project is an innovation that will protect the lives of Ghanaians and create jobs for members of the science community in the country. Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare presented activities in the road map for the projects which includes stakeholder engagement with various institutions. It is hoped that the project will be complete by 2027.
