Return to Ghana and coach Asante Kotoko – Kwame Kyei to coach Mariano Barreto
Kessben Sports can report that Board Chairman of Krobea Asante Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei would prefer coach Mariano Barreto to return to Ghana and complete his remaining one-year contractual agreement to avoid any monetary compensation.
Coach Mariano Berreto left Ghana after the end of the 2020-21 Ghana premier league season to his home country and has since not returned.
The former Black Stars coach before leaving Ghana granted multiple interviews expressing his displeasure over the Nana Yaw Amponsah led management which seems to confirm the bad blood between the gaffer and his employers.
Information in the local media suggests the Nana Yaw Amponsah led management is not ready to work with the coach who they reckoned has denigrated the club.
Asante Kotoko letting the coach leave means the Kumasi-based football club will be paying a compensation sum of $80,000 to Mariana Barreto. Our sources close to the BoD chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Dr. Kwame Kyei have hinted that the club will not be ready to cough out such an amount as compensation for the coach to leave.
