KMA seizes Actor Yaw Dabo’s sound systems for operating without permit

A task force from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has ceased musical speakers and system belonging to Ghanaian comic actor Yabo, the Public relations officer of KMA, Henrietta Afia Konadu has confirmed to Kessben TV.

Speaking on Breaking news with Ali Baba Dankambari, madam Henrietta Afia Konadau said the Assembly had apparently received multiple complaints from the residents of Dabaa in Kumasi about how the Kumawood actor has been using his Barber Saloon to cause noise pollution.

“Yes, it happened. Our taskforce went there and we ceased the speakers and brought them to our office. As we speak the speakers are currently with us at our office. He was playing music above the required decibel. The Assembly has bylaws on noise-making, and people have also on a number of times complained to us about how loud he plays the music there. He’s operating without a permit.”

When you are setting up such business, you ought to come to the KMA so that we look at your location and give you the permit of a level you can go. He does not have the permit to operate to that level of noise” She said.

Meanwhile, Yaw Dabo who is very furious about the development venting his frustration expressed that the KMA has been very unfair to him. Out of anger, he alleged the task force of the KMA have stolen his sound system and added that they can keep the sound system. The Public relations officer noted that at KMA they do everything within the confines of the laws therefore if Yaw Dabo wants his machines back and wants to continue with his business he should come to their office to go through the process of getting the requisite permit.
