NIA recruiting permanent staff to work across all districts in Ghana by October
The cooperate affairs manager of the National Identification Authority, Abdul Ganiu has revealed the NIA will have its fully functional district and regional offices ready in October 2021.
Mr. Abdul speaking in an interview with Kessben Accra 92.9, Kessben 93.3 FM/TV divulged the NIA is working tirelessly to ensure that all who haven’t received their Ghana cards will get them at their various district offices from October 2021.
He said 15 million Ghanaians received their Ghana cards with a million who are yet to get their cards even though they have registered.
According to the cooperate affairs manager, per their statistics, 1 million Ghanaians are yet to register to get their Ghana cards.
He noted that after the regional and district offices are ready in October, the remaining 1 million who have registered but have not received their cards and the 1 million who have not registered can all go to their various district offices to ensure they get the Ghana card. Reacting to a question by Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on the challenges of the Ghana card not still being accepted for Banking transactions, Mr. Abdul Ganiu assured that from October the system will accept the Ghana cards as it is taking some time for the electronic verification of the banks to complete the processes.
The communication ministry of Ghana has also said from October 2021 the Ghana card will be required for mobile sim registration.
