Sacking coach C.K Akonnor won’t solve the abysmal performance of the Black Stars – Fred Achie

Executive committee member of Ghana football association, Frederick Acheampong has added his voice to the recent Black Stars abysmal performance against South Africa.

South African got a win against Ghana Blackstars 1-0 at the F&B stadium in South Africa during matchday 2 of the ongoing Qatar 2022 Worldcup making Ghana dropped the 3rd position of the group G.

After the disappointing performance by the Black Stars, many Ghanaians are calling for the head of the Black Stars coach, C.K Akonnor but Frederick Acheampong thinks otherwise.

Expressing his opinion over the Black Stars performance and the calls to sack C.K Akonnor, Fred opined that considering the number of games left, there’s still an opportunity for Black Stars to make it out from the group.

“Sacking of the coach this time will not be the best decision. We should try and better our performance.”

”Ghana and South Africa are the favourites of the group and we have lost to South Africa by a goal to zero. South Africa will also come to Ghana, if we better our performance and beat them with a better scoreline, automatically we will have the advantage of head to head over them while we ensure that we get the necessary points in the other games.”

”There’s still an opportunity to qualify, all is not yet lost” Fred said on Kessben TV.
