Training For Peace Initiative: Ayorkor Botchwey commends Norway for Peace Operations Support

Mrs. Ingrid Mollestad, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Norway to Ghana has presented an Open Letter to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.

Ghana and Norway has longstanding and cordial relations that during the tenure of her predecessor, relations between the two countries have gone a notch higher.

She added that Ghana and Norway have reinforced their cooperation by collaborating on a wide range of bilateral and multilateral issues bordering on diplomacy, economic, trade, investment, technology, security and culture, among others as a means of strengthening the scope of the future.

Hon. Shirley commended Norway for its continuous support towards peace operations in Ghana and the West African sub-region, through a unique programme funding under the “Training for Peace” initiative, which equips and trains police officers from all over the world to serve as peace officers during conflicts.

She urged the Norwegian envoy to encourage Norwegian investors to consider doing business in Ghana.
