Black Stars lacks quality but we will qualify for Qatar 2022 – Hamzah Mohammed

Former Black Stars midfielder, Hamzah Mohammed is of the opinion that the current Black Stars squad lacks quality on the field of play but their performance against South African was not entirely bad.

He reckons the 1-0 defeat inflicted by South Africa is a result of the quality the team lacked, emphasizing the fact that the team lost about six of its key players.

Speaking on Midfield Action with Joe Laka, the former Asante Kotoko midfielder was optimistic that the Black Stars of Ghana can still qualify for the Worldcup despite the slow start.

“The performance wasn’t bad, it’s a world cup qualifier and everyone wants to go so it ain’t going to be easy. Right now there are no minnows in football.”

“In the South Africa game, we lost about six of our key players and I want to believe that if we had three of them available, we would have won the game.”

“We lacked quality, and I won’t blame the bench. C.K knows how it is, he’s been there before. See how at a point our keeper was fumbling. You can’t blame the coach on that, he needs our support. We have a bright chance of qualifying” He stated.
