Ghana Committed To Strengthening Relations With The Kingdom of Spain – Ayorkor Botchwey To Ambassador-Designate
Foreign Minister recieves open letters from Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Spain to Ghana, H.E. José Javier Guitérrez Blanco-Navarrete
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey on Monday September 6, 2021 met the Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Spain to Ghana, H.E. José Javier Guitérrez Blanco-Navarrete to receive his open letters at her office in Accra.
During the meeting Foreign Minister congratulated Mr. José Javier Guitérrez Blanco-Navarrete on his appointment as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Ghana.
She acknowledged that the fruitful cooperation that exists between Ghana and Spain have deepened progressively over the years;
She stated that the high-level visits from the two countries have strengthened bilateral ties and cooperation in various sectors.
Hon Aryokor Botchwey underscored the contribution of Spain to Ghana’s economy through investments in several sectors, notably, agro industries, renewable energy, construction, and health sectors.
She further lauded the commitment of Spain and other European countries to efforts to curb drug smuggling and ward off the activities of pirates in the Gulf of Guinea.
Foreign Minister acknowledged the support of Spain for education in Ghana and in this regard, highlighted the offer of training programmes for officers of the Ghana Army, and the One -Year Master’s Programme in International Relations offered to Officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
Hon Aryokor Botchwey affirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening relations with the Kingdom of Spain and assured him that the Ministry’s doors remain open for continuous cooperation with the Ambassador-Designate; and wished the Ambassador-Designate a successful tour of duty in Ghana.
