Our Hospitals Looks Nice In The Public Domain But Lacks So Many Things For Kids- Dr. Dwomo -Fokuo
Paediatrician Specialist Dr. ADOMA DWOMO-FOKUO ODAME has expressed her worry on Children not given much attention in the area of healthcare in this country.
Speaking On kessben FM maakye show, she disclosed that a lot of hospitals looks nice in the public domain but they lack so many things.
The Paediatrician Specialist said most hospitals lack play rooms for children and added having access to play room helps them feel less anxious about being in the hospital.
“The works of everything is measured by it weakest member and the weakest member is the child so we should invest in our Children because they are the future leaders to help develop the country some years to come.
She has therefore called on government to come to the aid of children with a child friendly building, designed with children in mind. A Hospital with all the subspecialties like pediatric cardiology (kids heart issues), pediatric gastroenterology (kids liver and tummy issues), pediatric intensive care (for the critically ill child), neonatology (for the tiny babies), pediatric oncology (for kids with cancer),pediatric surgery and all the other subspecialties.
She added that , there is no need to be signing fundraising letters to send kids to India and South Africa.
Ghanaian doctors are great and with the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment, we wouldn’t lose the boy who is going to die in a couple of weeks. We could do a liver transplant for them right here in Ghana.
