EC schedules registration exercise to commence on September 12

The (EC) of Ghana has announced that the voters’ registration exercise for individuals who have reached the age of 18 will take place from Tuesday, September 12 to Monday, October 2, 2023.

This registration will be conducted at all 268 district offices across the nation.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, emphasized that this registration period will allow Ghanaians who have turned 18 since the last registration in 2020, as well as those who are now over 18 but couldn’t register in the 2020 exercise, to participate.

It was also noted that there will be a charge of GHC10 for the replacement of voter’s ID cards. Additionally, the District Level Assembly Elections (DLE) are scheduled for Tuesday, December 19, 2023, and will take place in all 6,272 electoral areas in districts except for Nkoranza North and South in the Bono region. Elections in those districts will not be held until 2025.
