‘Should Nana Addo be taking a bicycle or trotro to travel abroad’? – Buabeng Asamoah slams critics

The communication director of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Yaw Boaben Asamoah has responded to critics over the president’s hired jet to the UK and Germany.

Yaw Buaben Asamoah reacting to Okudzeto Ablakwa’s call for a national policy on presidential travels noted that is imperative to first consider the safety of the president when travelling.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Kessben 92.9 FM, the NPP member said Okudzeto is not the one to determine the sort of plane the President should use adding that the figures about the jet the president hired for his recent trips are not accurate.

The minority apparently claimed the jet hired by president Nana Addo Dankwah for his recent trip to the United Kingdom and Germany cost $15,000 dollars per hour.

Buabeng Asamoah refuted the figures which have been going rounds.

“The circulating prices of the hired jet are not accurate. I wonder why people talk like that, should he be taking a bicycle or trotro when travelling abroad”? Boaben Asamoah stressed.

“The safety of the president is important and we have to ensure that anytime the president travels he will be safe and discharge his duties accordingly.

“The president is embarking on all these travels to ensure we rescue the nation from the Covid” He added.
