Transfer speculations are not enough grounds to go to court – Frank Nero to Hearts of Oak
Senior sports journalist, Frank Owusu Ansah, widely known as Franko Nero has reacted to a press release by Accra Hearts of oak cautioning journalists to take legal action against them.
The 2020-21 Ghana premier league champions released a press statement dated 25th August 2021 admonishing individuals and media organisations to stop publishing untrue stories about the club or face legal action.
In the press release, the club particularly cited their player, Salifu Ibrahim’s alleged $600,000 offer by Antwerp Football Club as a concocted story.
The press statement made it clear that if such concocted stories about player transfers continue to be reported by journalists, the club will take the journalists to court.
Frank Nero speaking on Kessben FM’s extra time sports show after the release said Hearts of Oak should allow journalists to do their work.
According to Frank Nero, speculations and transfer gossips are part of journalistic work thus transfer speculations are not enough grounds to go to court so Hearts of Oak should allow journalists to do their work.
