I’m not respected in Ghana, but I’m highly revered elsewhere – Asamoah Gyan
Former Ghana Black stars captain, Asamoah Gyan is not worried over the lack of respect most Ghanaian exhibit towards him.
The former Sunderland forward says even though most Ghanaians do not appreciate him as a legend, he’s however not worried because the outside world sees him a such.
Asamoah was part of the Legendary African footballers selected by the Confederation of African Football to run the draw for the 2022 CAF African cup in Cameroon.
Speaking on Kessben TV/FM before the draw, the former Ghana captain said he really feels honoured to have been selected by CAF as part of the legends of African football to run the draw.
“I feel very honoured to be part of the legends to run this draw. I was a bit surprised but not too surprised because of the level I have reached in my football career. I’m not respected in Ghana but outside Ghana, I’m highly revered”
Ghana was drawn with Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros in group C. The tournament is scheduled to kick start in January 2022.
