Family of policewoman allegedly killed by boyfriend demands justice
The family of the police officer, allegedly killed by her boyfriend at Damongo in the Savannah Region, wants the police to act swiftly in arresting the perpetrator.
The father of the late officer made the call during the one-week observation of the passing of her daughter at her hometown in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased was said to have been stabbed to death at her home by her boyfriend. She was later found dead in a pool of blood with suspected knife wounds.
At the solemn ceremony attended by distant family members and loved ones, the distraught father, Victor Osei, made an appeal to the police service to do all it can to ensure that the alleged perpetrator is arrested and brought to book.
“Police officers have been here to commiserate with us during this one-week observation. Family members from far also joined us, we have still not received any information on the suspect. When the police officers came here, we told them to ensure that the suspect is apprehended. In fact, we are really sad about this development because we believe that, the young man killed my daughter, but he has still not been found. We are appealing to the government and the relevant authorities to make sure he is arrested and prosecuted for peace to prevail.”
Suspect declared wanted
Already, the police have said they are on a manhunt for the boyfriend of the deceased.
“The boyfriend is highly suspected, and the police are on a manhunt for him. The police administration has also started processes to inform the family of the deceased, and assures that it will update the public on the matter”, the police said in the statement.’
