How Sergio Aguero is extending his career
Sergio Aguero is still on vacation after the Copa America and is yet to join up with Barcelona‘s first team for pre-season, yet the former Manchester City forward is taking a radical approach to extending his professional career.
The 33-year-old has undergone stem cell treatment, which is intended to regenerate cartilage in both his knees.
It’s a treatment that Aguero had planned to have before signing for Barcelona, but it has been encouraged by Dr. Robert Soler.
In the 2020/21 season, Aguero missed 24 matches through a left knee injury, which ultimately forced him to undergo surgery.
Aguero isn’t the first athlete to have such a treatment either, and he’ll be following in the footsteps of Pau Gasol, Rafa Nadal, Carles Puyol, Martin Odegaard and Erik Lamela.
