Augustine Okrah leaves Asante Kotoko
The former Ghana Premier League top scorer has left the Kumasi based club after three seasons.
Asante Kotoko winger Augustine Okrah has ended his stay at the club following the expiration of his contract after the end of their 2020/21 season’s campaign. Okrah turned down contract extension offers proposed by the management of the club to leave the Ghanaian giants today. The 27-year-old was omitted from the club’s match-day squad for their FA Cup quarter-final game against Berekum Chelsea at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday. Asante Kotoko’s 2020/21 season campaign ended after losing 5-4 on penalty shoot-outs to Berekum Chelsea in the FA Cup quarters. Okrah was involved in four goals, scoring one and providing three assists in his 17 game outings for Asante Kotoko in the just ended season. He joined the Porcupine Warriors on a free transfer in 2019 after unsuccessful spell at Indian outfit NorthEast United. Okrah has previously had stints with BK Hacken, Al Merreickh, Smouha SC and Al Hilal.
