Cote d’Ivoire : AfCFTA SG Wamkele Mene Lands in Abidjan For a 4-day working Visit

AfCFTA Sec Gen HE Wamkele Mene

The Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFCTA) His Excellency Wamkele Mene and his Entourage has touched down in the Ivorian Capital of Abidjan For a 4-day working Visit.

The visit which is an invitation from His Excellency Alassane Ouattara – President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, is the Secretary-General’s first official visit to that country.

The visit will officially begin on 26 – 30 July 2021 and will primarily take place in Abidjan the commercial capital of the country.


Consultations are planned with the following:
President of Cote d’Ivoire;
President of the African Development Bank (AfDB);
Minister of Foreign Affairs;
Minister of Trade and Industry
Federation of West Africa Employers Association (FOPAO); and the Organised Private Sector

SG Wamkele Mene was accompanied by officials of the AfCFTA Secretariat including Senior Advisor to the Secretary General, Peter Joy Sewornoo and Senior Advisor – Customs Demitta Gyang
