NPP Charges Lordina Mahama to refund Cedis 3.2 million allowances paid to her
The Nationa Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic party, lawyer Henry Nana Boakye, known in political circles as “Nana B” has said that if former First Lady Lordina Mahama refuses to refund all allowances paid to her, they will embark on a demonstration.
Speaking on Kessben media’s Maakye show, he revealed that they will formally write a letter of request to refund Cedis 3.2 million and if her office refuses to comply, they will take to the streets and demonstrate to exercise their displeasure.
Expressing surprise at a comment made by the National Communication Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, that the sitting president and his vice can’t cater for their wives hence the payment of the allowances, he said that the issue of giving allowances to wives of presidents and their vices is not new or something introduced by the NPP government, it has been there since and all wives of the predecessors of the current government have benefited.
