Kojo Antwi Honours The Memory Of Former BET Director Lilian N. Blankson.

Legendary musician, performer and first Ghanaian artist to be nominated at the BET Awards, Kojo Antwi is saddened by the passing of former BET Director and producer, Lilian N. Blankson.

The musician who shared incredible moments with her eulogized her describing her as a sister.

In a post, the maestro Kojo Antwi wrote;

“A true friend is never truly gone. Their spirit lives on in the memories of those who appreciate and honour them. 

“Friends are the family we choose”, a saying Lilian Blankson brought to reality when our relationship progressed from friends to family. The realization of you not being here is a deep gut to my heart. 

Dear Sister, honouring your death is truly about honouring your remarkable life and your influence on my life.

“The greatest lyricist to ever walk this earth” you called me and in my journey as a musician, you, amongst most, deserves an honourable mention for your massive contributions and directions. You brought African Music to the BET and made the African Music we make highly graded and recognized. 

You opened a whole new chapter for us, for Africa. Without your contribution, efforts and involvement with the BET, a lot of the great developments and recognitions today may not have happened. 

You made all this possible as the remarkable woman you are. 

Rest In Peace my dear friend Lilian Blankson.” 

On Sunday, July 2, 2021, Ghanaian rapper Edem broke the news of the demise of Lilian Blankson.

The shocking news took the music industry by shock as tributes immediately starting pouring from several personalities who ever encountered her.

Until Lilian’s demise, she was a major plug for African musicians at the BET and championed the helped in the extension of the network’s presence in Africa.

She was a record label CEO and managed Wondaboy.
