2 dead, 4 injured as military and police clash with protesting Ejura youth

Two people have died, while four others injured after some protesting youth of Ejura Sekyedumase clashed with the military and police officers Tuesday.

Since the death of the 40-year-old, the youth say they are willing to sacrifice their lives until they get justice for him. The youth stormed the police station on Tuesday morning to inquire about the extent of the crime investigation, stressing that they want no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to book. Although the Police told them they have arrested two people in connection to the crime, the agitated protestors said it was just a façade.The youth hit the street and were met by the military and the police.

Three security officials were seen in a horizontal line with a water canon charging on the protestors. The military started shooting into the sky but at the some point started shooting into the crowd.

Two people were hit, and the crowd scattered, with some of the protestors running to seek shelter in nearby houses.
