Happy 34th birthday to Lionel Messi!

Lionel Messi turns 34 this Thursday, and Barcelona are not wasting the opportunity to celebrate their star man.

Blaugrana president Joan Laporta had wanted to announce that Messi was staying on his captain’s birthday, but to this point nothing has been agreed.

He wants it done at all costs before June 30, when Messi will become a free agent.

Laporta has been personally leading the conversations with Lionel’s father and agent, Jorge Messi, and is confident a deal can be struck.
