No contemporary leader in Ghana can compare himself to Otumfour Osei Tutu II

Kwame Osei-Prempeh, the Chief Executive Officer, Director & MD, Ghana Oil Co., Ltd. has taken a swip at the founder of Light House Chapel, Dag Heward-Mills over his remarks against Asantehene.

He posted the below statement on his Facebook page and had an exclusive interview with Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye on “Maakye” morning show. Watch full below…

“The truth is no contemporary leader in Ghana can compare himself to Otumfour Osei Tutu 11 when it comes to making an impact on the lives of his people.

If this Bishop is talking about legacy there is a lot to talk about. Otumfour like other chiefs in other parts of the country does not collect taxes from his people. Through his own initiatives thousands of Ghanaian youth, not only from Asante have enjoyed scholarships to have education to better their lives.

He has built school blocks, teachers quarters, boreholes and other infrastructure for deprived communities. If men of God live Dag Heward Mills who collect tithes and offerings from the rich, the poor and needy have the patriotic and altruistic mindset of Otumfour Ghana would have advanced. Otumfour did not create the title “King Solomon” for himself. The Bishop has displayed his ignorance.

For his wisdom in settling complex cases like the Dagbon issue and similar cases in Asante the people likened him to King Solomon who from the Bible showed great wisdom. He is not likened to King Solomon because he has seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines.

What these “men of God” who are swimming in riches by exploiting gullible people should know is that God will judge them by their actions. No proper man of God will attack a chief who has been a blessing to his people and country. King David, Solomon, Asa, Hezekia etc who were blessed by God prospered. Otumfour should be and is inspiration to many people.

I wish same can be said by Dr Heward Mills who finds the pulpit more lucrative than consulting room and the operation theatre. Let us give respect to the one who deserves it is an admonition from the Bible”
