JB Danquah’s death must not be taken for granted – Doe Adjaho
The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, has charged the country’s security agencies to speed up investigations into the murder of JB Danquah-Adu the Abuakwa North Member of Parliament.
The late MP was killed at his Shiashie residence on Tuesday February 9, 2016. The Police later arrested a 19-year-old boy in connection of the murder.
The boy is currently facing trial.
The murder of the late MP which shook the nation has heightened safety fears among several MPs who have called for Police protection.
Speaking to the family of the late MP during a courtesy call, Mr. Adjaho said the death of the late MP is worrying because it can happen to any Member of Parliament.
“What happened to JB can happen to any of us, and if we allow it and take it for granted, we don’t know who will be the next. So, we have received briefings at the leadership levels from the police, from the highest level of National Security.
They have come to brief us on this matter.
“I remember that it was only one occasion that he took a position to file an amendment and he was prepared to push that amendment to its logical conclusion because he believed that position he was taking on the floor of the House. Apart from that it will be difficult to see JB pushing his view beyond a certain level,” Mr Adjaho stated.
