Nigerian CEO attending Trade Fair exhibition dies in Tamale
The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council who led a delegation to participate in Ghana’s International Trade Fair underway in Tamale, has died in the country.
Confirming the incident to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, said the deceased, Abraham Okom, suddenly took ill and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh says the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, has been notified about the unfortunate incident.
“The CEO was here in Tamale to attend the International Trade Fair which is being held here. He was actually the head of the Nigerian delegation. The information we had was that he was suddenly taken ill and he was rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination was done but we haven’t heard about the cause of death yet. And because he is the head of a delegation of another country, the Nigerian Embassy here in Ghana has been informed.”
