Teacher drops dead at Indece Day parade rehearsals
A 22-year-old teacher fell and died on the spot at Akyem Nkronso in the Eastern region Friday while rehearsing for tomorrow’s Independence Day parade, Starr News has learnt.
The deceased, Akoto Solomon, a national service personnel at the Methodist Primary School, according to reports, fell flat on his face whiles the mock parade was ongoing in a scorching sun.
He was rushed to the Suhum hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Father of the deceased who confirmed the incident to Starr News said the death has come as a shock to the family since he was not known to be suffering from any ailment.
The body has been deposited at the Suhum government Hospital morgue.
Ghana marks it’s 59th independence day anniversary tomorrow Sunday March 6. In line with the celebration, parades will be held in all the regional and district capitals of the country.
