Psychiatric Hospital workers angry over unpaid February salary
Psychiatric Hospital in Accra as workers there including, doctors are livid with their management over their inability to validate their attendance for the payment of February salaries as required by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD).
Information gathered by StarrFMonline.com indicates that over 700 workers of the Psychiatric Hospital will not receive their salary for February due to a mishap in the validation process for that month.
Management of the facility claims the Controller’s department presented them with the wrong validation documents, making it impossible for them to undertake the exercise before the payment date. But the CAGD insists the problem could have been rectified if they had been alerted on time.
One of the Doctors of the facility who spoke to Starrfmonline.com said the development has become a banter between the two bodies as the health workers continue to wallow in their misery.
The aggrieved workers who are threatening to lay down their tools until their February salaries are paid have, however, been assured that their salary for February can only be paid at the end of March.
The validation policy was introduced by government to help rid the public sector pay roll of ghost names.
