JB Danquah's murder: One week today
An elder sister of the slain Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, JB Danquah-Adu, wants whoever is found to have killed the late MP to be made to face a similar fate as the family marks the one-week celebration of the gruesome murder of the MP today.
The one-week memorial service will be held at his hometown at Akim Tafo in the Eastern Region as well as his Shiashie residence in Accra.
According to Abena Acheampomaa, the sister, there is no justification why someone who has committed such a dastardly and criminal act should be allowed to live and enjoy life.
The former MP was gruesomely murdered at dawn on Tuesday, February 9 at his Shiashie home.
Four people are said to be in police custody, including the prime suspect, one Daniel Asiedu alias Sexy Don Don, and are helping in investigations. Daniel Asiedu claimed to have been contracted to kill JB for GH¢2000.
Abena Acheampomaa told Kasapa Fm that though the family is happy about the arrest, they’re impatiently waiting for the truth in the whole criminal act.
“We need to know the entire facts in the matter. The truth is what we are waiting to hear; as to whether he was hired by someone to kill our beloved brother or he did that of his own volition,” she said.
She added, “Such a person who has mercilessly killed another person should not have a lawyer defending him. You don’t kill someone and expect that you’ll live. The suspect, when found guilty, must also be killed like he killed our brother.”
The prime suspect was said to have been sent to the crime scene to simulate how he committed the act, Accra-based Citi Fm has reported.
He was said to have climbed a ladder into the compound to the MP’s room where he allegedly committed the crime.
The security guard who was on duty on the day was only granted bail over the weekend after being grilled by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for days.
Mr JB Danquah-Adu left behind a wife and two daughters.
