Afoko’s Suit: NPP makes no show in court

The leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and their lawyers on Wednesday failed to make an appearance at an Accra Human Rights Court 2 which is hearing a suit filed by the embattled chairman of the party, Paul Awentami Afoko, challenging his suspension.
Ultimate Fm gathered that the lawyers of the party wrote to the court seeking an adjournment which was duly granted by trial judge Justice Anthony Yeboah who adjourned proceedings to February 16, 2016.
Mr. Sammie Crabbe, who accompanied Mr. Afoko to court, expressed hope that lawyers and representatives of the party will make an appearance on the next adjourned date to enable proceedings to begin ahead of the campaigns.
“I pray that they come on the next date so that we can all sit down and resolve this matter and get together to prosecute the campaign. As far as officers in this matter feel unsafe, we will not be able to prosecute the agenda at the polling station level,” he indicated.
